How to Set Up Admins on Your ARK Server

Admins can manage players and use special commands. This guide shows how to grant admin on ARK and how to keep it secure.

Grant admin

Set ServerAdminPassword in GameUserSettings.ini. In game, open the console and run enablecheats YourPassword to unlock admin commands like giveitem and teleport.

Good practice

  • Only give admin to people you trust.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for any admin features.
  • Keep a record of who has access, and remove it when it is no longer needed.
  • Avoid using admin powers during normal play to keep things fair.
