Our Infrastructure
8Bit Hosting operates its own dedicated hardware infrastructure based in the UK. Our nodes run on enterprise-grade servers we own and manage, delivering excellent low-latency connectivity across the UK and Europe.
Network & Latency
- UK latency: typically 5–25ms from most UK locations
- European latency: typically 10–50ms
- Network capacity: multi-gigabit uplinks with redundant routing

DDoS Protection
All services benefit from enterprise-grade DDoS mitigation — protecting your server from network attacks with no setup required on your end:
- Always-on — no configuration needed on your end
- High-capacity scrubbing — capable of absorbing large-scale volumetric attacks
- Automatic scrubbing — malicious traffic is filtered and clean traffic forwarded with minimal impact
While our protection handles the vast majority of attacks, extremely large or sustained attacks may occasionally cause brief impact. All network-level incidents are communicated in real time via our Status Page and Discord.
Hardware
Our game server nodes run on dedicated hardware with:
- High-frequency CPUs optimised for game server workloads
- NVMe SSD storage for fast world and map loading
- ECC RAM for stability and reliability
Backups
Automated backups are included with all plans and stored on a separate dedicated backup server — completely independent from the game server nodes. Backups run daily and are retained based on your plan tier. You can also trigger on-demand backups at any time from the panel's Backups tab.
Uptime Commitment
We guarantee 99.9% monthly uptime for our infrastructure. If we fall short, you automatically receive account credit — no need to ask. Full details and the credit table are in our Service Level Agreement.
Maintenance & Incidents
Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance via our Status Page and Discord. Unplanned incidents are posted there in real time as they happen.
