Service Level Agreement (SLA) – 8Bit Hosting
Last updated: 16 June 2026
We are committed to keeping your servers online. This SLA defines our uptime commitment and what you receive if we fall short.
Game Server Hosting — Uptime Commitment
We guarantee 99.9% monthly uptime for all game server hosting plans. This is measured across our network infrastructure — excluding scheduled maintenance windows (announced at least 24 hours in advance) and circumstances outside our control (DDoS attacks beyond mitigation capacity, upstream datacenter failures).
You can track our live uptime at status.8bit-hosting.com.
VPS / VDS Hosting — Uptime Commitment
We target 99.9% monthly uptime for VPS/VDS network infrastructure. However, VPS/VDS availability is also dependent on our upstream infrastructure provider's own availability. In the event of an upstream provider outage beyond our control, our SLA credits will reflect only the portion attributable to our own network.
This SLA covers the network and hardware layer only — it does not cover:
- Your operating system, applications, or services running inside the VPS/VDS
- Issues caused by your own configuration or software
- Reboots or maintenance you initiate
Automatic Service Credits
If we fall below the 99.9% monthly uptime guarantee, you automatically receive account credit — no need to ask:
| Monthly Uptime | Credit |
|---|---|
| 99.0% – 99.9% | 5% of that month's invoice |
| 95.0% – 98.9% | 10% of that month's invoice |
| Below 95.0% | 25% of that month's invoice |
Credits are applied to your account balance within 5 business days of the end of the affected calendar month.
Exclusions
- Scheduled maintenance (announced 24h in advance via Discord and status page)
- Issues caused by your own server configuration, plugins, mods, or software
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, major upstream outages beyond our control)
- Free trial services
- Upstream infrastructure provider outages (VPS/VDS only — beyond our direct control)
- Suspensions resulting from AUP violations
How Credits Are Calculated
Uptime is measured as: (total minutes in month − downtime minutes) ÷ total minutes in month × 100. Downtime is defined as the service being unreachable for more than 5 consecutive minutes, as logged on our status page.
