1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of game server hosting services provided by 8Bit Hosting ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing or using any of our services, you ("you", "the customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.

2. Service Overview

8Bit Hosting provides hosted game servers including, but not limited to, Minecraft, Garry's Mod, and other supported titles. All services are provided on a best‑effort basis and may vary depending on server load, network conditions, and maintenance requirements. See our Service Level Agreement for our uptime commitment.

3. Account Requirements

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or have written permission from a parent or guardian.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and login credentials.
  • You must not share your account or allow unauthorised third parties to use your service.
  • Any activity performed under your account is your responsibility.

4. Payments & Billing

Full details are in our Billing & Payment Terms. In summary:

  • All prices are in GBP (£). Services are billed in advance on the cycle selected at checkout.
  • Payment must be received before service activation or renewal.
  • Failure to pay by the due date may result in suspension and, after a grace period, termination.

5. Refunds

We offer a 72-hour money-back guarantee on first-time purchases, subject to the conditions in our Refund Policy. Renewals are non-refundable.

6. Acceptable Use

Your use of our services is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

7. Resource Limits

Each plan includes specified CPU, RAM, and storage allocations. You agree not to intentionally circumvent or exploit these limits. We reserve the right to throttle, restrict, or suspend services that negatively impact other customers or our infrastructure stability.

8. Backups & Data

  • Automated backups are provided as part of your plan but are not a substitute for your own backups.
  • We are not responsible for data loss caused by user error, plugin conflicts, corruption, or hardware failure.
  • You are strongly encouraged to maintain your own off-site backups of important data.
  • Upon service termination, data may be deleted after a reasonable grace period (typically 7 days).

9. Uptime & Availability

We commit to 99.9% monthly uptime for our network infrastructure, as detailed in our Service Level Agreement. Scheduled maintenance, user-side issues, and force majeure events are excluded. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

10. Support

Details of what we support and how to contact us are in our Support Policy. We provide support for server setup, panel access, basic troubleshooting, and network issues. We do not provide support for custom plugins, mods, or in-game issues unrelated to our hosting infrastructure.

11. Cancellations & Termination

  • You may cancel your service at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting support.
  • No refunds are issued for unused time unless covered by our Refund Policy.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services for violation of these Terms, the AUP, or abusive behaviour toward our staff — immediately and without notice in serious cases.
  • On termination, data stored on your service may be deleted after 7 days unless otherwise agreed.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for loss of data, revenue, profits, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
  • Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify customers of material changes via email or our Discord server. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
