A VPS (Virtual Private Server) runs on a shared physical host. Your RAM and storage are guaranteed, but the CPU cores are virtualised and shared at the hypervisor level. This is ideal for the vast majority of workloads. A VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) gives you fully dedicated physical CPU cores that are not shared with anyone else, which means more predictable, consistent performance under sustained load.
Provisioning is fully automated. In most cases your server is ready and your credentials are delivered by email within 2 to 5 minutes of your order being confirmed.
Yes. You can reinstall a different Linux OS at any time from the Server Portal at provision.8bit-hosting.com. The reinstall takes around 5 to 10 minutes and sends you a fresh set of credentials. Note that all existing data on the server will be wiped.
Windows is not available as a self-service install. If you need Windows Server, open a support ticket and we can discuss options. A Windows licence fee applies and setup is handled manually by our team.
If you cancel within 3 days of purchase, a refund can be issued minus a setup and provisioning fee to cover deployment costs already incurred. After 3 days, no refund is available but your server remains active until the end of the billing period.
Yes. Open a support ticket and we can discuss upgrading your plan. Upgrades are handled manually to ensure a smooth migration with minimal downtime.
