Abuse Reporting Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

Purpose

8Bit Hosting takes misuse of our infrastructure seriously. This policy explains how to report suspected abuse originating from servers we host, and how we handle such reports — including the mandatory 24-hour response requirement that applies to VPS/VDS customers.

What to Report

Please report any of the following if you believe it originates from our network:

  • DDoS attacks or network flooding
  • Malware distribution or botnet activity
  • Spam or phishing campaigns
  • Illegal content (CSAM, terrorism-related material, etc.)
  • Copyright infringement
  • Any other harmful or illegal activity

How to Report

What to Include

To help us investigate quickly, please provide as much of the following as possible:

  • The IP address or domain name involved
  • Date and time of the incident (with timezone)
  • A clear description of the activity
  • Relevant logs, screenshots, or other evidence
  • Your contact details (so we can follow up if needed)

Our Response

We treat all reports seriously and aim to:

  • Acknowledge receipt within 24 hours
  • Begin investigation within 48 hours
  • Take appropriate action (warning, suspension, or termination) based on our findings
  • Cooperate with law enforcement where required

All reports are treated confidentially. We do not disclose the identity of reporters to the subject of the report.

VPS / VDS Customers — 24-Hour Response Requirement

If you are a VPS/VDS customer and we contact you about an abuse complaint originating from your server, this is a time-critical situation. You are required to:

  1. Respond within 24 hours of our notification, confirming you have received it.
  2. Take action to stop the abuse and detail the specific steps taken.
  3. Prevent recurrence — explain how you will stop the issue happening again.

If we do not receive a satisfactory response and confirmation of resolution within 24 hours, your server will be suspended without further notice. This is a firm requirement imposed on us by our infrastructure provider and we cannot make exceptions. Reactivation after suspension may require an additional fee.

False Reports

Submitting intentionally false or malicious abuse reports is itself a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy and may result in action against your account.

Info

Once payment is completed, the amount you have selected will be credited to your account balance, enabling you to renew your services or place new orders.
