How to Connect to Your FiveM Server

Once your FiveM server shows Running in the panel, anyone with GTA V can join. This guide covers the two main ways to connect.

Before you start

  • Players must own a legal copy of GTA V on PC.
  • Download and install the FiveM client from fivem.net (free).
  • Start your server from the panel and wait for the status to show Running.

Find your address

Your server's IP address and port are shown at the top of its page in the panel. The default FiveM port is 30120.

Connect via FiveM client

Open the FiveM launcher and click Direct Connect. Enter your server IP and port (e.g. 123.45.67.89:30120) and click Connect. You can also share the link as cfx.re/join/ once your server is listed.

Connect via F8 console

In the FiveM client press F8 to open the console and type:

connect yourip:30120

Share with friends

Send them your IP and port. If your server has a password, they will be prompted for it on connection. You can set a password in server.cfg: see the configuration guide.

If you cannot connect

  • Check the server status is Running in the panel.
  • Make sure the FiveM client is up to date.
  • Confirm the port is correct, default is 30120.
  • Give a fresh server a minute or two on its very first start.
