How to Set Up Admins on Your Garry's Mod Server

Admins can manage players and use special commands. This guide shows how to grant admin on Garry's Mod and how to keep it secure.

Grant admin

Install ULX and ULib from the Workshop. The first connecting player can usually set themselves as superadmin, or use ulx adduser from the Console. Superadmins can manage players and settings in game.

Good practice

  • Only give admin to people you trust.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for any admin features.
  • Keep a record of who has access, and remove it when it is no longer needed.
  • Avoid using admin powers during normal play to keep things fair.
