How to Back Up and Restore Your Hytale World

Backups save you from accidents, bad updates and corrupted saves. Always back up before a big change on your Hytale server.

What gets backed up

Your important data is your world save folder. A full backup also keeps your configs and mods.

Create a backup

  1. Click Premium Backups in the left sidebar.
  2. Click CREATE BACKUP and wait for it to complete.
  3. Your backup is stored off-site on a separate storage system, safe even if the server node has a hardware failure.

Restore a backup

Pick a backup from the list and restore it. Your server rolls back to that point. Stop the server first for a clean restore.

Golden rule

Always take a backup before installing mods, changing world settings, or updating the game.
