How to Set Up Admins on Your Minecraft Server

Admins can manage players and use special commands. This guide shows how to grant admin on Minecraft and how to keep it secure.

Grant admin

Open the Console and run op YourUsername to make yourself an operator. Operators can use commands like /gamemode, /give and /ban. To remove an operator, run deop YourUsername.

Good practice

  • Only give admin to people you trust.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for any admin features.
  • Keep a record of who has access, and remove it when it is no longer needed.
  • Avoid using admin powers during normal play to keep things fair.
