How to Install Mods on Your Palworld Server

Palworld modding is still in its early stages. Mods are installed by placing files in the server's content directory. Here's how to do it.

Where to find Palworld mods

The main sources for Palworld mods are Nexus Mods and community Discord servers. Always check that a mod supports dedicated servers before installing, many are client-only.

Installing a mod

  1. Download the mod files (usually a .pak file).
  2. In the panel, click Files and navigate to:
    Pal/Content/Paks/
  3. Upload the mod's .pak file into this folder using the Upload button.
    For large files, use SFTP (see the SFTP guide).
  4. Restart the server.

Important notes

  • Mods that change gameplay (items, Pals, balancing) usually need to be installed on both the server and each player's client.
  • Pure server-side mods (quality-of-life, anti-cheat) only need to be on the server.
  • Keep a backup before installing mods, use the Backups tab in the panel.

Removing a mod

Delete the .pak file from Pal/Content/Paks/ and restart the server.
