Most Palworld server issues fall into one of the categories below. Check these before opening a support ticket.
Server won't start
- Check the Console tab in the panel for error messages.
- A corrupt
PalWorldSettings.iniwill prevent startup. Delete it and restart, the server will regenerate a default one. - Make sure your plan has enough RAM. Palworld needs at least 6 GB for a stable server.
Players cannot connect
- Confirm the server status is Running in the panel.
- Check the correct port is being used, default is
8211(UDP). - Palworld uses UDP, not TCP. Some routers and firewalls block UDP, this is handled automatically by 8Bit Hosting, but check your own network if testing locally.
- Make sure all players are on the same game version as the server.
World not saving
- Use the
/Saveadmin command before restarting. - Check available disk space in the Dashboard tab, a full disk prevents saves.
- The auto-save interval is set by
AutoSaveSpaninPalWorldSettings.ini(default 30 seconds).
High lag / poor performance
- Reduce
ServerPlayerMaxNum: fewer max players means less server load. - Palworld is CPU and RAM intensive. If lag is constant, consider upgrading your plan.
- Reduce the view distance or Pal count per base if the game supports it.
Pals or progress lost after restart
- Always use the Backups tab to take regular snapshots, restore the most recent before the loss.
- Check that saves are completing successfully before restart (use
/Savefirst).
