How to Set Up Admins on Your Starbound Server

Admins can manage players and use special commands. This guide shows how to grant admin on Starbound and how to keep it secure.

Grant admin

In starbound_server.config, add your account under serverUsers with "admin": true. Admins can use in game commands when allowAdminCommands is on.

Good practice

  • Only give admin to people you trust.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for any admin features.
  • Keep a record of who has access, and remove it when it is no longer needed.
  • Avoid using admin powers during normal play to keep things fair.
