Troubleshooting Your Starbound Server

Most Starbound problems have quick fixes. Work through this guide before opening a ticket, and you will solve most issues yourself.

First checks

  1. Open the Console and read the most recent messages, errors usually point straight at the cause.
  2. Try a Restart from the panel.
  3. Check the CPU and RAM graphs, constant high usage means you need a bigger plan.
  4. Make sure the game and any mods are up to date.

Common problems and fixes

  • Players get a mod mismatch. The server and all clients must run the same mods.
  • Players cannot connect. Confirm port 21025 and that the server is started.
  • Asset errors on start. Remove conflicting mods and restart.
