8Bit VPS servers are provisioned in the EU (Germany) by default. If your users are primarily in the US, Asia, or Australia, you can request a regional migration to reduce latency.

How to request a region move
- Log in to the Server Portal
- Click Manage on your server
- Scroll down to the Region Move card
- Select your target region and deployment method
- Click Pay & Request Move and complete the Stripe payment
Deployment methods
Live migration
Your data is copied to the new region before the switch. Only offline for the final cutover (a few minutes). A one-off migration fee applies.
Fresh install
A clean server is created in the new region. Your data is not transferred — you will need to restore it from backup yourself. No migration fee.
What happens to my IP?
You will get a new IP address in the new region. The portal updates your IP automatically once the move is complete. Update any DNS records pointing to your old IP.
How long does it take?
Region moves can take up to 12 hours. You will receive an email when complete, and the portal IP updates automatically.
