How to Make Your Project Zomboid Server Public or Private

You decide whether your Project Zomboid server is open to everyone or invite only. This guide covers both.

Make it private

Set a Password and Public=false for a private game. Share the password only with the people you want on the server.

Make it public

Remove the password or allow list, then share your connect address so anyone can join. See the connect guide for how players join.

Stay in control

  • Use a strong password and change it if it leaks.
  • Keep your admin list short.
  • Take regular backups in case you need to undo griefing.
